Sizing & care
Get the fit right, keep them longer
Measure your foot in thirty seconds, match it to the chart, and learn the five-minute routine that keeps a pair going for years.
Step one
Measure your foot
Do this in the evening, when your feet are at their largest, and measure both — most people have one foot slightly longer than the other.
Stand on paper
Sheet against a wall, heel touching it.
Mark your longest toe
Pencil upright, mark just past the tip.
Measure in centimetres
Wall to mark. Use the longer foot.
Step two

Between two sizes?
Take the larger one. Your toes should never touch the front.
Wide feet
Every model is already wide at the toes. Only size up if the length is borderline.
Using orthotics
Remove our insole first. Half a size up gives you room to work with.
Socks or bare feet
Both work. Thick socks? Measure with them on.
Care instructions
Thin soles need a different routine
A barefoot shoe has less structure holding it together than a chunky trainer, and that's the point. It also means heat and harsh cleaning do more damage here than they would elsewhere.
Five minutes every few weeks is all it takes. Here's the routine we use ourselves.
Cleaning, step by step
1Take them apart
Pull out the insoles and loosen the laces. Both wash better on their own.
2Brush off dry dirt first
Let mud dry, then brush it away. Water on dry mud only pushes it into the fabric.
3Wash gently
Lukewarm water and mild soap by hand, or a 30°C gentle cycle for knit uppers.
4Air-dry in shape
Stuff with paper and leave them somewhere airy. Never on a radiator.
Nevertumble dry, machine wash leather, or dry them near a heater. Heat separates the sole from the upper, and that damage isn't covered.
Freshness
Keeping barefoot shoes fresh
Rotate your pairs
Give each pair 24 hours to dry out fully before wearing again.
Air them out
Take the insoles out overnight so moisture can leave both parts.
Try toe socks
They keep the natural toe spread and absorb what your shoe otherwise would.
Baking soda overnight
A spoonful in each shoe, tipped out in the morning. Cheap and it works.
Questions
Still unsure
Do Stryde shoes run true to size?
Yes. Order the size you normally wear and the length will be right — the difference is the width, not the length. If your foot measurement sits between two sizes on the chart, take the larger one.
How much room should there be at the front?
About a centimetre between your longest toe and the front of the shoe when you're standing. That gap isn't slack, it's the space your foot needs to spread and lengthen as you take a step. If your toes brush the front while standing still, the shoe is too short.

What if the size I ordered is wrong?
Email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll exchange them. Keep them unworn outside the house until you're sure, and send the pair back in its original box. Tell us which size you'd rather have and we'll get it moving.
Not sure? Order anyway.
Try them at home for 30 days. If the size is off, we'll swap it — that's what exchanges are for.
