Frequently asked questions

1. FEATURES AND FOOT CONDITIONS

WHAT ARE THE MAIN FEATURES OF A STRYDE SHOE?

Four, and they work together. A wide toe box that lets your toes spread instead of being squeezed into a point. A zero-drop sole, so your heel and toe sit at the same height. A thin, flexible sole you can feel the ground through. And a soft, non-binding upper with no seams or stiff panels pressing on the top of your foot.

DOES STRYDE FOOTWEAR HELP WITH NEUROPATHY?

Stryde shoes are built with features that many people with neuropathy look for: a wide toe box, a non-binding upper that doesn't press on sensitive areas, a slip-resistant outsole, and a flat, flexible design. Whether that's right for your feet is a question for your doctor — reduced sensation means you can't always feel a problem developing, so medical guidance matters more here than anywhere.

IS STRYDE FOOTWEAR GOOD FOR PLANTAR FASCIITIS?

Plenty of our customers deal with plantar fasciitis and wear our shoes daily. The flat sole keeps your foot in a natural position and the flexible construction lets it move as it's meant to. Go carefully at first: thirty minutes a day for the first week, building up from there. If it hurts more, stop and speak to your podiatrist.

WHAT ABOUT BUNIONS?

This is where the wide toe box does the most obvious work. Instead of pressing the big toe inward, which is what a tapered shoe does, there's room for it to sit where it naturally wants to. Many customers with bunions come to us for exactly that reason.

ARE THEY SUITABLE FOR FLAT FEET?

Our shoes have no built-in arch support, by design — the idea behind barefoot footwear is that your foot does that work itself. Some people with flat feet find that a relief, others prefer support. If you're not sure, start with short wears, or use your own orthotics inside them.

CAN THEY HELP WITH KNEE OR BACK PAIN?

A zero-drop sole means you're not standing on a raised heel, which changes how you're aligned from the ground up. Some customers tell us they notice it in their knees and lower back. We can't promise that, and if you're in pain, get it looked at properly.

WHAT ABOUT WIDE FEET OR SWELLING?

Every model is cut wider than a conventional shoe, and the soft upper gives where a stiff one would press. If your feet swell during the day or you wear orthotics, take the half size up.

I HAVE A CONDITION THAT ISN'T LISTED HERE.

Email us at info@stryde-footwear.com and tell us what you're dealing with. We'll describe honestly what our shoes do and don't do, so you can take that to your doctor and decide together.

2. SIZE AND FIT

WHICH SIZE SHOULD I ORDER?

Order your usual size. Our lasts are shaped around a real foot rather than a mould, so the length matches what you normally wear — there's just more room across the toes.

I HAVE WIDE FEET. WILL THESE FIT?

That's who they're built for. Every model is wider at the toes than a conventional shoe. If you're between sizes or wear orthotics, take the half size up.

WHAT IF I GET THE SIZE WRONG?

Email us and we'll swap it. You have 30 days from delivery to let us know.

DO I WEAR SOCKS WITH THEM?

Either works. The lining is breathable enough for bare feet; socks add a slightly snugger fit and are easier to wash than a shoe.

WHERE DO I FIND THE SIZE CHART?

On our size and care guide, with measurements for every model.

3. BAREFOOT, EXPLAINED

WHAT MAKES A SHOE "BAREFOOT"?

Three things: a toe box wide enough for your toes to spread, a sole thin and flexible enough to feel the ground, and no height difference between heel and toe.

DO THEY HAVE ARCH SUPPORT?

No, and that's deliberate. A barefoot shoe lets your foot do that work itself. If you'd rather have support, we sell insoles separately.

CAN I USE MY OWN ORTHOTICS?

Yes. Most fit once you remove our insole. Going half a size up gives you a bit more room to work with.

I'VE NEVER WORN BAREFOOT SHOES. WHERE DO I START?

Slowly. Wear them thirty minutes a day for the first week and build from there. Your feet are using muscles that have been resting inside cushioned shoes, and they need time.

I HAVE PLANTAR FASCIITIS, BUNIONS OR NEUROPATHY. ARE THESE SUITABLE?

Our shoes are designed with a wide, non-binding upper, a flat flexible sole and a grippy outsole, and many customers living with these conditions wear them daily. They aren't a medical device and we can't tell you what's right for your feet — that's a conversation for your doctor or podiatrist. If you get the go-ahead, build up gradually.

4. MATERIALS AND CARE

WHAT ARE THEY MADE FROM?

Uppers in premium polyester, soles in organic rubber. Winter models keep the same rubber sole and add an EVA-and-cotton insole for insulation.

CAN I WASH THEM?

Yes. A damp cloth handles most of it. For a proper clean, take the insole out and hand-wash with mild soap, or run them through a gentle machine cycle.

HOW DO I KEEP THEM LOOKING GOOD?

Spot-clean with a soft cloth and a little mild soap, and let them air-dry away from direct heat. Full instructions are in the care guide.

ARE THEY WATERPROOF?

Some models are, some aren't. It's listed on each product page, and if you can't find it, email us.

5. ORDERING AND DELIVERY

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

Pick your model, choose size and colour, add it to your cart and check out. It takes about a minute.

HOW LONG UNTIL IT ARRIVES?

Orders leave us within 24 to 48 hours. After that, most parcels reach the US, UK, Canada and Australia in 3 to 9 business days, or 4 to 13 during busy periods like Christmas and Black Friday.

WHICH COUNTRIES DO YOU SHIP TO?

The US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe as standard, and most other countries on request. Email us and we'll arrange it.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP FROM?

From our international fulfilment centre. Which one handles your parcel depends on stock and where you are.

HOW DO I TRACK MY PARCEL?

Enter your tracking number on our tracking page. It can take one to three days before the first scan appears. No tracking number yet? Email us.

I ENTERED THE WRONG ADDRESS. CAN YOU FIX IT?

Email us straight away and we'll try to catch it before it ships. Once a parcel is on its way we'll do what we can, but we can't promise anything.

CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY ORDER?

Contact us as soon as possible. Packing starts quickly, so the sooner you write, the better the chances.

6. RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

HOW DO I RETURN SOMETHING?

Email us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and what went wrong. We'll confirm and send you the return address — don't post anything before you have it, as unapproved returns can't be processed.

WHO PAYS FOR RETURN SHIPPING?

We do if the fault is ours: a defect, damage in transit or the wrong item. If it's a change of mind or the wrong size, the postage is yours.

CAN I EXCHANGE INSTEAD OF REFUND?

Yes, and it's usually faster. Tell us which size or colour you'd rather have when you email.

WHEN DO I GET MY MONEY BACK?

Within five days of your return reaching us, back to the card or account you paid with.

WHAT CAN'T BE RETURNED?

Pre-orders, and anything that's been worn beyond trying it on. Sale and buy-one-get-one orders can come back, up to three items per order.

7. ABOUT STRYDE

IS STRYDE FOOTWEAR MADE IN THE USA?

While Stryde is a US-based company, our shoes are produced internationally under ethical, high-quality manufacturing practices.

WHERE EXACTLY ARE THEY MADE?

By carefully vetted suppliers, mainly in Asia, working to quality standards we set. Every design is checked against what a barefoot shoe should actually do.

CAN I BUY THEM IN A SHOP?

No, only here. Selling directly keeps the price down and means you're never sold an old model or a fake.

WHERE'S THE OFFICIAL SHOP?

stryde-footwear.com. Anything sold elsewhere isn't ours.

HOW DO I STOP YOUR EMAILS?

Use the unsubscribe link at the top or bottom of any email we send.
